This was supposed to be our “vacation” once we had finally moved out of our condo in Ft Myers and into our RV full-time. It turned into a working vacation for me, and our first official park stay after spending the last 4 weeks at Racheal and Danny’s for the COVID-19 stay-at-home order.
We had the kids come pick up the last of our furniture and other things we were downsizing early and left Fort Myers 3 weeks before we originally planned. The states were closing the state borders and restricting people from moving between some states, closing rest areas and campgrounds. We feared we’d get stuck in Florida with no place to go as all of our original reservations were cancelled due to the pandemic.
So, after 4 weeks of staying at home, Racheal, Danny and Devyn joined us at Reed Bingham State Park. It’s just 30-40 minutes from their home in Tifton, GA. They had just purchased a camper a few weeks before, so it worked out great. They were able to secure the site next to us and their friends brought their camper so that we could all celebrate Racheal’s birthday together – while social distancing.
Reed Bingham State Park is a 1,613 acre Georgia state park in Colquitt County and Cook County located 5 miles east of Ellenton. The park surrounds a 375 acre lake that is a tourist attraction in southern Georgia.
